Closing Year of Mercy

Sylvester Kuubetersuur/ November 14, 2016/ Parish, Yapei

As the whole Diocesan Family gathered in prayers and thanksgiving to close the Year of Mercy in Damongo on Sunday 13th November, 2016, our participation as a parish was visibly present. Since there was to be only one Mass in the Diocese to close the Year of Mercy, all parishioners were encouraged to go and profit from the great occasion in Damongo.

We arranged and celebrated the Mass in anticipation on Saturday evening for those who for various reasons could not make it to Damongo. An impressive  good number of parishioners however made the trip to Damongo, with the Christian Mothers carrying along gifts for offertory.

We were indeed blessed as a parish community to be part of the diocesan celebration, and also to receive the Plenary Indulgence that was imparted by the Bishop, Most Rev. Peter Paul Angkyier, at the close of the celebration.

Hopefully, this and other such occasions will greatly inspire this young parish as she matures in her faith.
