As part of the efforts of the Catholic Church, in collaboration with donor partners, to provide quality education for children of school going age in her area of work, the Fufulso community, in the St Francis Xavier Parish, Yapei, received a magnificent primary school block over the weekend.

At the ceremony to bless and hand over the building to the Fufulso community for use, the Catholic Bishop of Damongo, Most Rev Peter Paul Angkyier, urged the chiefs and elders, and entire community, to see this gesture as the efforts of the Catholic Church to contribute to their integral human development. They were challenged to remain united and take up shared responsibilities in the maintenance of the structure for the benefit of their children.

Solidarity messages from some of the dignitaries present further stressed the importance of education and urged them to enroll their children in the school.

The District Chief Executive, Hon Mustapha Mahama, as well as representatives from GES, expressed appreciation and acknowledged the contributions of the Catholic Church toward the promotion of quality education. They pledged support for the school with the assurances of collaboration in every way possible.

The Assemblyman of the Fufulso area, who spoke on behalf of the chiefs and people, offered similar sentiments of appreciation and assurance that the magnificent edifice given to them will be taken care of.

The occasion was graced by a wonderful cultural performance from a section of the community as expression of appreciation.
