First Partnership Day Celebrated

Sylvester Kuubetersuur/ December 14, 2016/ Parish, Yapei

The weekend of the 11th December, 2016 marked the official beginning of Partnership between our Parish and St. Margareta Parish in Wadersloh, Germany. The two parishes marked the beginning of their friendship with a Partnership Day Celebration. A four-member delegation from St Margareta Parish, who were visiting our parish to mark the official beginning of the partnership, led by their Parish Priest Fr. Martin Klüsener, fully participated in the festive celebration of the day. The other members of the delegation from Wadersloh are Klaus Grothues, Heinrich Reeke, and Andreas Engels.

During the Eucharistic celebration, Fr. Klüsener who was the homilist, expressed their joy and happiness as they enter into this friendly relationship with us, which we dabbed “Friendship in Mission”. He urged both parties to commit themselves in working hard and to mutually support each other to deepen our faith and promote development. He pledged the support of his parish in whatever way possible towards the infrastructural development in their newly found sister Partner Parish of Yapei.

The outdoor activities following the Mass demonstrated concretely the joy and happiness of the day with music and dancing, and sharing of food and drinks.

The delegation has since returned to Wadersloh, Germany.
